In these classes, the study programme focuses on the development of the child not only in the classroom but also the world outside by exposing them to such environ ment where these children can learn. The learning goes beyond the boundary of the subject and involves a trans disciplinary approach. It offers a framework that meets the children's several needs: academic, social, physical, emo tional and cultural. The curriculum is based on six main themes: who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we orga nize ourselves and share the planet. These correspond to six subject areas: language; social studies, mathematics science and technology, arts; personal, social and physical education.
